Rue du Commerce
Rue du Commerce is one of Paris’ most animated shopping streets. Its history begins in the early 19th century, thanks to urban development operations carried out by real estate entrepreneurs Jean-Léonard Violet and Alphonse Letellier, who created the street in 1824 in the former village of "Beaugrenelle", later renamed "Grenelle", before being finally annexed to Paris in 1860. You will find a large variety of stores selling typical French products, like perfumery, lingerie, clothing, tableware, decoration or gifts. At the beginning of the street you will find the aerial metro, a unique public transport that will take you to place Trocadero, by crossing "Pont de Grenelle" over the Seine, where you may admire one of the most beautiful views on the Eiffel Tower. At the end of the street, the Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Grenelle church, with a singular allure, is one of the neighborhood attractions.
